Check this out. It's from over SEVEN years ago!

I had no recollection, but, apparently, Street Fighter IV came out the 17th of February, 2009!

6 years, 364 days later...

Oh wow... didn't realize that. Then again I don't think I paid attention to it out or resentment of not owning a PS3 at the time. Still, I did eventually get Tatsunoko vs. Capcom, so that worked out all right.

Fun fact, I think when you outed yourself in the Gamespot forums, you made a sexy video game character thread, and they were all guys from Street Fighter. Am I remembering that right?

Never made a Sexy Character thread, but I DID get moderated by Skylock for posting this picture in my own Street Fighter topic!  Nyaa

Ha! I don't see anything wrong with that. Though, now I'm a little bummed that Skullomania isn't going to show up in a SF game again. Sad

Still, I wonder why the hell I'd remember something like that... oh well.

I think everyone who is now here also joined in discussions in the same GS topic about the extreme exaggerations of all the SFIV dude's bulges though!

By the way, in case anyone is looking for Fighting Pad options. I am using this and it works flawlessly:

It’s the Hori Fighting Commander 4. It came out priced around $49.99. It was marked down recently to $39.99.  For some reason, GameStop thought it wasn’t going to be compatible with SFV, so they marked it further down to $29.97 and put it on clearance. It’s the BEST fighting pad I’ve used, hands-down! Buttons are spaced perfectly. The d-pad angle can be adjusted, as can the sensitivity of the diagonals to make special moves easier. The d-pad shape is ideal… Can’t say enough good about it! Get ’em before they’re gone!  Happy

Looking at the time, it’s nearly 11PM. I got SFV last night at midnight. With the exception of sleeping, eating, showering and doing other minor necessities, I have devoted the majority of the last 24 hours straight to Street Fighter V. This could very-well be my last Street Fighter; I don’t feel like I’ve wasted a minute’s time. No regrets at all.   Happy

One day, a once young and aspiring model will look back at the burning wreck of his career and wonder where it all went wrong.

Then he'll remember: "Oh yeah. Ass shirt."

Edit: Awww, they took down the image of the kid actually wearing the shirt. Oh well, here it is anyway!

Could be worse. He could have been asked to model the Street Fighter condom.

In spite of everything else, I can still enjoy one of my mainstays. That was all I was trying to get across. Don't sweat the rest.

Servers are much better today. I had one or two disconnects, but I actually fought more humans today than AI opponents!

Love how you can set your preferences to Casual or Ranked -- or-- Both!

Still tinkering with Survival Mode. I love the whole "Supplement" system. It serves two functions:  One, you gamble your score versus your skill and that becomes REALLY addicting, and Two, the varying conditions your Supplements set --REALLY-- keep you on your toes and force you to become a better player! On top of that, just like the old days in the arcade, someone can jump in, in the middle of your Survival match and challenge you. If the text is white when you are challenged, it's a Casual match and you can fight without worrying about a loss in Ranking or Fight Cash... When that text is RED though, it's a Ranked match. The adrenaline starts to flow immediately and it's ON! You're already in the zone from fighting through Survival... then when a Ranked challenge hits... whole new level of tension and excitement! REALLY like the way this is set up!!  Grinning

Sometimes I wonder if the game is designed to “fuck” with you…

There’s a Supplement you can set where one hit will kill you –BUT– if you somehow manage to win the round you get TEN TIMES the points… Pretty much EVERY TIME I try for this, I’ll get my opponent down to the last sliver of health aaaannnddd…

YOU FACE A NEW CHALLENGER!!!

…I get pulled away to an online match!

Once you win or lose, you return to the beginning of the Survival Match that was in progress, but damn! What a psych-out!! Love it though!!  Nyaa

Games launch is early access.

Waiting till Capcom actually finishes the game is when I'll buy it, so May.

Survival is now tough for me for one reason: I turn on Ranked and Casual challenges the moment I boot up the game. Yesterday, it wasn’t as big a deal, as I was able to get to around level 27 on Normal before getting knocked out. Today, I played for well over an hour and made it to only around 16. Difference is, now that the servers are up and running, I was averaging 2 or 3 challenges per level. It’s not that the challenges have any effect on your Survival streak, after a while I just got plain TIRED! If I want to get through normal, I am going to have to force myself to at least turn off one of the two online modes, or bite the bullet and turn off both.

I absolutely LOVE the challenges though and Online is now SMOOTH as silk!

Although I didn’t progress very far in Survival tonight, I DID see a noticeable increase in skill fighting human opponents!

I had an awesome run this morning, getting 4 wins in a row and getting into the high three-hundreds LP-wise. Think I just got a few rookies in a row though, because I was beaten twice in a row after that. Beat a Bronzer… got a good amount of points for that…

Something about SF where, when the battles are well-matched, you’re on a high when you are winning, you have no one else to blame when you get sloppy and lose…

…either way, by the time I’m done, my pulse is always sky-high and my hands are shaking in a good way, just as I go to power down the PS4.

The person I seem to have the most trouble with or have the best battles with is Rashid, believe it or not!

Well... ewww... Street Fighter V almost had a "realistic" look thanks to the Unreal 4 engine used in it's development.
